The Madison Metropolitan (WI) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is pleased to announce our Designer Bag Raffle.
Entries Accepted: March 1 – 29, 2025 Winner Announced: April 5, 2025 Virtual Drawing at 12 NOON on Facebook Live. Please visit our Facebook at facebook.com/MadisonLinks/.
This raffle drawing is conducted under the auspices of Class A license holder: Madison Metropolitan (WI) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. The raffle winner will be drawn at random from a container holding the organization’s raffle ticket portion of all raffle tickets purchased and each will have an equal opportunity to win. The winner does not need to be present to win. If the winner is not present, they will be notified and instructed on how to claim the prize through the information provided on the winning ticket.
Purchasing A Raffle Ticket
Here is how you can purchase:
- You may purchase tickets directly from any Madison Links Member. Visit our website at madisonlinksinc.org for a complete list of members.
- Contact Madison Links at madisonlinksinc@gmail.com for further information. A Fund Development Committee member will review the email, contact the purchaser, direct the purchaser to make payment if they live within geographic area. The Fund Development Committee member will confirm receipt of payment, complete the raffle ticket with the purchaser’s information, and scan/email the purchaser a copy of their completed raffle ticket. To purchase using the organization’s email, the purchaser:

- must confirm willingness to accept delivery of tickets in digital form.
- must pay electronically for the purchase of their tickets.
The physical raffle ticket entry (i.e., the ticket stub that goes into the drawing container) will be hand-delivered by a member of the Fund Development Committee to the location of the drawing in order to be drawn.
Eligibility to Participate in Raffle Drawing
NOTICE: **This Raffle is open to natural persons who are legal residents and physically located in the State of Wisconsin and who are at least eighteen (18) years of age as of the date of entry. Subject to the laws of the State of Wisconsin and applicable federal laws, only limited and unorganized sales of tickets for this Raffle will be permitted outside of Wisconsin. This Raffle is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
The Madison Metropolitan (WI) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated membership and their “immediate family members” (which include member’s spouse, brother or sister, spouse of brother or sister, parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and spouses of children, and great grandchildren.), and any members of The Links, Incorporated who currently hold an elected or appointed position on any level of the organization are prohibited from accepting any prize or gift from the raffle.
Purchase of Raffle Ticket Not Tax Deductible
Funds from the tickets purchased for this fundraiser will be utilized to support the Madison Metropolitan (WI) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated civic and community service programming and scholarship initiatives. Purchasing a raffle ticket(s) does not guarantee a return or prize, and the cost of a raffle ticket(s) is not tax deductible.
If the raffle is canceled, the organization will refund money to ticket purchasers.
IRS Tax Documentation
Prize winners are responsible for all state/local and federal tax ramifications, and the raffle prize may not be awarded until tax implications have been addressed. Winnings from raffles in excess of $600 (cash or cash value) are subject to income tax withholding. A completed W-9 Form will be requested of the raffle winner as the prize is valued over $600.00. If the winner fails to furnish a correct taxpayer identification number (social security number or individual taxpayer identification number), the Madison Metropolitan (WI) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is required to withhold 28 percent of the total proceeds or fair market value of the raffle prize, in which case, the back-up withholding shall be paid by the prize winner to the organization to remit to the IRS. Tax Implications will differ based on status of US Residency.
List of Prize Winner
The Madison Metropolitan (WI) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated will post the name of the prize raffle winner on its website at https://madisonlinksinc.org/events/ and Facebook page facebook.com/MadisonLinks/ within 48 hours of the drawing date or upon successful notification of the winner. The organization will furnish the name of the prize winner to each ticket holder who provides the organization with a self-addressed stamped envelope and requests the list.
